Keep the Ball in Front: A Simple Tip to Elevate Your Pickleball Game

I was on the court with some beginners recently, and it reminded me of a key tip to boost your game: keep the ball in front of you.

Why? It opens up your field of vision, letting you see the ball, the court, your partner, and opponents all at once. Plus, it keeps your body moving forward—a huge advantage in pickleball.

Here’s how to use this tip in different situations:

  1. Serving:

Extend your arm and toss the ball in front of you. This sets you up for a strong, accurate serve.

  1. Dropping:

Keep it simple! A reliable drop shot starts by contacting the ball in front of your body.

  1. At the Kitchen:

Reaching into the kitchen improves your angle of attack and reduces your opponent’s reaction time.

Keeping the ball in front helps you take control of the point. Try it out next time you play, and watch your confidence and skill grow!
